    About Blogs Automater

    • Blogs Automater is written in PHP and is empowered with MySQL and encoded with Zend Encoder and Zend Power Suite. For this reason it requires at least PHP version 4.3 with loaded modules for MySQL support and Zend Optimizer.
    • The MySQL server must be at least version 4.*
    • You will need one MySQL database with a valid username and password.
    • Feeds Scraper normally runs on any type of FreeBSD/Linux/Unix as well as Windows based platforms.

    All basic and necessary requirements are checked for full compatibility during the installation process. Any errors will be displayed.

    Minimum Server Requirements

    To properly install the Blogs Automater software and get the most of your software, you server must have these basic requirements:

    • PHP 4.3 or higher
    • MySQL
    • Zend Optimizer 3.0++
    • PHP Curl library
    • PHP XML Library
    • Cronjobs

    Installation Overview

    A single install file, ba-install.php, will perform all of the tasks necessary to install the software. Once installed, you can begin the online setup portion. During the installation procedure, this installer will check your server to ensure it meets all requirements, and will notify you if something is incorrect or missing.
     
    After uploading the software, simply launch the location of ba-install.php in your web browser to perform the online portion of the setup procedure. You will need your MySQL hostname, your MySQL database, MySQL username and password. If you do not know these, you will need to ask yourt host.

    Blogs Automater Step-by-Step Install Guide

    • Extract the zip archive file with the script and be sure to keep the folder names intact.
    • Create a new folder on your licensed domain called "ba".
    • Upload all the files and folders to contained in the archive to your newly created "ba" folder. Note, upload everything in BINARY mode, not ASCII or AutoSelect.
    • CHMOD 777 these files: info.inc.php, bacronjobs
    • CHMOD 777 these folders: temp, images
    • Obtain your license key from the software owners lounge.
    • Open the ba-install.php file on your server with your web browser and follow the instructions, along with completing the MYSQL info, then click to install the software.
    • Once your script is successfully installed, login to your administration area using the admin password you selected during install and make sure everything works OK.
    • At this point, you should enter in your license key to ensure your software is completely legitimate.
    • CHMOD 666 these files: info.inc.php, bacronjobs (you can try 755 as well)

    After a successful installation be sure to delete the install file "ba-install.php" for security purposes.

    Post Installation Checks

    After you have successfully installed Blogs Automater, there are a couple of things you need to do.

    Verify Settings: Login to your admin area and go to Settings -> Configure and verify that all settings there are accurate.

    Cron Jobs: The next thing to do is to go to Settings -> Cronjobs and ensure that the necessary cronjobs are setup properly. If they are not, you must setup them manually following the instructions on that page. If you are unfamiliar with cron jobs, please consult your hosting provider. Alternatively, there are many resources online to assist with cron job creation and maintenance.
