    About Blogs Organizer

    • Blogs Organizer is written in PHP and empowered with MySQL and Encoded with Zend Encoder and Zend Power Suite. For this reason it requires at least PHP version 4.0 with loaded modules for MySQL support and Zend Optimizer.
    • The MySQL server must be at least version 4.*
    • You will need one MySQL database with a valid username and password.
    • Blogs Organizer runs only on Linux/FreeBSD and any type of Unix based systems! It does not run on Windows based platforms.
    • Blogs Organizer requires Cron daemon to be running on the server in order to do its automated procedures and realize its scheduling features.
    • Your server "should" be able to use WGET. The software uses WGET to run its background processes.

Blogs Organizer is written with code optimized for fast and better performance and less server resources as well. All the PHP code is encoded with Zend Encoder suite which makes the execution speed like the C# speed! The code of the script is as small as possible, you will need at least 1MB (pretty enough) for installing and operating with the script. You need FTP access or web upload access with an ability to change permissions in order to install the script (No SSH access necessary). All these requirements are checked for compatibility during installation and you will be notified if you do not meet any of them.

To use Blogs Organizer, as of the last version released, your server must have these minimal requirements:

    • PHP 4.3 or higher
    • MySQL
    • Zend Optimizer
    • PHP Curl library
    • PHP Xml Library

    Installation Overview

One install file will perform all of the tasks necessary to install Blogs Organizer, at which point you can begin the online setup portion. During the installation procedure, this installation file will check your server to ensure it meets all requirements, and will notify you if something is incorrect or missing.

The installation file is named bo-install.php and you should launch it through your browser after uploading the script package on your web server. The installation process is simplified and provides an intuitive setup procedure.

You will need your MySQL hostname, your MySQL database, MySQL username and password.

    3. CHMOD 777 these folders: boblogs, bofeeds, boposts, bobackups, boimages, bomaps, bocategories, botagclouds
    4. Obtain your license key from the software owners lounge. Open the file "bolicense" with a simple plain text editor and paste in your license key. Make sure you just paste your exact license key, without any spaces or new lines. Make sure you save the file "bolicense" again with no extension. After this is done, upload the file "bolicense" to the BO directory.
    5. Open the location of the bo-install.php file on your server with your web browser.
    6. This file will check if your web server is compatible with this script and will check if everything is ready for installation! If you see bold red text at that page, then there is some error or warning and you must correct it before proceeding to install.
    7. Once your script is successfully installed, login to your administration area using the admin password you selected during install and make sure everything works OK.

After a successful installation be sure to delete the install file "bo-install.php" for security purposes.

    Post Installation Checks

After you have successfully installed Blogs Organizer for the first time, you must do some checks to ensure that everything is installed and setup properly.

Cron Jobs: The first thing you must do is go to the admin panel and in General Settings->Cron Jobs you must make sure the necessary cronjobs are setup properly. If they are not, you must setup them manually following the instructions on that page. If you are unfamiliar with cron jobs, please consult your hosting provider. Alternatively, there are many resources online to assist with cron job creation and maintenance.

Verify PHP Executable: The second thing you must do is to check whether the PHP executable is located properly by going to General Settings->Pinger Settings. If the script located PHP properly during install, its path will be written in the form there. If it is blank, you should request the full path to the PHP executable from your hosting provider and then you manually set its path in the script.
